Student Support Services

A large number of student support services are provided at the Regional Centre. A brief idea of the same is provided below.


The Regional Centre provides all feasible pre-admission counselling facilities to learners such as providing information on admission procedure, details of courses available under IGNOU Regional Centre, Mumbai, learning methodology under distance learning programme, assignment submission procedure, Term-end-examination details etc. We also provide walk-in-admission facilities to learners. If learners admission form is accompanied with all the required documents for admission in IGNOU programme then on the spot admissions are provided along with the provision of the identity card and study material (subject to the availability of the same) to the learners. To facilitate re-registration of learners in subsequent years of the admitted programme we send re-registration form well in advance of the due dates to the learners concerned. To avoid any lapses, we also send SMS alerts to learners on their registered mobile number.

PRE-EXAMINATION : Before Term-end-examination we earmark the examination centres in different parts of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai & Ratnagiri District to felicitate the learners in better manner. We distribute and collect the examination forms from learners as per the guidelines issued by IGNOU New Delhi. We also try to sort out any type of problems of learners before and during the Term-end-examination. The assignment and practical grades obtained by learners in various courses are collected and data entered by the Regional Centre for further transmission to IGNOU Delhi.

POST EXAMINATION : Term-end-examination result is being published by Student Evaluation Division, IGNOU, New Delhi. However, if this office receives any problems from learners, the same was forwarded to SED for resolving their cases.

ADMINISTRATION OF LSCs : Presently 37 Learner Support Centres (LSCs) are operational under IGNOU Regional Centre, Mumbai. This office closely monitors the functioning of theses LSCs and their problems are also sorted out on priority basis for providing better learning facilities of learners. Grievances of learners pertaining to LSCs are given priority and the same is sorted out amicably.
