Certificate of Competency in Power Distribution (CCPD)

Minimum Duration: 6 Months
Maximum Duration: 2 Years
Minimum Age: No bar
Maximum Age: No bar

Eligibility:

i) 8th Pass (Non-sponsored candidates); or 
ii) Technician/ equivalent, trade-man or manpower working in power sector (sponsored candidates); or
iii) General candidates or private electricians at least 

The Certificate of Competency in Power Distribution has been developed by the School of Engineering and Technology, IGNOU, in collaboration with the Ministry of Power, USAID-India and the Power Finance Corporation under the Distribution Reform Upgrades and Management (DRUM) Project for the personnel employed in electrical power utilities or the electricity sector to upgrade their skills, enhance systemic efficiency and deliver quality power to the satisfaction of the beneficiaries.

The Distribution Reform, Upgrades and Management (DRUM) Project has been designed by the Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India, and USAID-India with the objective of demonstrating the best commercial and technological practices that improve the quality and reliability of "last mile" power distribution
